We’re excited to launch a new workshop series as part of the INSPIRE project, under Task 5.4: Datafied Democratic Participation.
This series explores the power of visual methods in making complex data more accessible, emotionally resonant, and politically meaningful. As our societies face increasing polarization and technocratic opacity, we ask: How can visual storytelling open space for democratic imagination? How can inclusive data practices support participatory policymaking?
From activist cartographies to experimental visualizations, we’ll delve into creative tools that help reframe data as a space of participation — not just representation.
✨ Future workshops in the series will explore themes such as:
Participatory data storytelling
The politics of absence and invisibility
Counter-mapping and intersectional cartography
AI and citizen-led data imaginaries
Join us as we experiment, reflect, and imagine new ways to see democracy differently.
