During participation, time is experienced in how activities are paced, how long participants are expected to be “on”, and how much room exists to pause, return, and change course. La Nuestra’s model, a feminist, sovereign platform where women can create pseudonymous profiles, share testimonies voluntarily, and connect with others while accessing legal and therapeutic resources, treats testimony as something that may require different timings: some may be ready to share immediately, others only after months or years.

This approach recognises that digital safe(r) spaces need flexible temporal structures: people can enter, speak, listen, and seek support at different moments, without being punished for needing longer or for stepping back. Moderation, security, and accompaniment are organised as ongoing practices, not one‑off events, acknowledging that dealing with sexual violence is a long arc rather than a single campaign.

During a participatory process facilitators can then:

• Offer multiple, repeated entry points into discussions and decisions instead of “now or never” moments

• Use shorter, focused engagements and cycles of activity + rest, rather than long marathons that exhaust participants and moderators

• Normalise stepping back, returning later, or contributing in different ways (listening, witnessing, behind‑the‑scenes support) as valid forms of participation over time
