Students’ Map for a Students’ Building
- General Information
- Geoide en Revolución, a collective of students and alumni from the University of Buenos Aires’ Faculty of Geography, used social cartography to map their own school from the students’ perspective, highlighting both physical and social dimensions of the space. In response to ongoing conflicts over a new building that ignored student needs, the workshop engaged over 50 students to collectively represent classrooms, administrative offices, and activist spaces, showing inequalities, overcrowding, and restricted access. The resulting map visualized concerns such as the commodification of knowledge, exclusion from decision-making, and the symbolic significance of spaces tied to student activism.
