A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.
Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.
Lisbon
Co-Creation and Physical Mobility
Lisbon's pilot, part of the INSPIRE project, aims to establish a space for co-creation on issues related to physical mobility. To this end, we will experiment with an arts-based method called Legislative Theatre, through which we will act out the problems experienced by people with physical disabilities in order to raise awareness of these issues among the general public and political decision-makers. Under the coordination of creators Inês Cóias and Mia Meneses, with the support of artist and activist Diana Niepce, the project involves artists, activists and institutional partners in an integrated way throughout the co-creation process that will culminate in the enactment of a performance in two public presentations.
