A participatory workshop organized by the Municipality of Alghero dedicated to the local energy transition, characterized on one hand by proposals for large centralized production projects and on the other by the idea of distributed, community-based energy production.
The event will take place on Thursday, December 4, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Polisoccorso Conference Hall on Via Liguria.
The initiative is part of a deliberative process stemming from the collaboration between the Municipality and the European Horizon INSPIRE project, which will provide a space for dialogue among citizens, businesses, and civil society organizations, focusing on strategic choices between distributed local energy production (energy communities, building renovation) and large offshore plants.
During the workshop, the pros and cons of different alternatives will be examined in a structured way, and active contributions from associations will be highlighted through an interactive group work model.
The outcomes of the workshop will be shared on the project’s dedicated digital platform, with contributions from all participating organizations.
The goal is to build a sustainable, inclusive, and shared energy policy, in line with the municipal strategy for a democratic and participatory energy transition.
Participation by third-sector associations is essential to represent community perspectives and strengthen the transparency and social impact of Alghero’s energy choices.
